For now, we do not expect a large number of namespaces to be created once the SESAR legacy namespaces have been registered. Therefore, a manual application and registration process may be sufficient for the time being. Nevertheless, the process should be clearly structured and well documented.

1. An Allocating Agent can apply for an IGSN Namespace and associate a URI with it.
2. The process of allocating a new namespace is initiated by an Assigning Agent requesting the acclocation of a namespace by creating a new ticket in the IGSN ticket system. http://trac.gfz-potsdam.de/igsn/newticket
3. The request is reviewed by the IGSN Manager. Conflicting interests are reviewed and meidated by the Executive Board. Cases the Executive Board cannot resolve are referred to the General Assemby to decide.
4. The approved namespace is added to the IGSN Metadata Store https://doidb.wdc-terra.org/igsn/ and avertised on the IGSN Wiki.
